Electrical Control Panel Fabrication
Manufacturing of industrial electrical control panel boards
Fabrication of electrical control panels since 1979
Since 1979, MG Electricidad has established itself as a company focused on the assembly of industrial electrical control panels. Considered a vital element in industrial automation, electrical control panels are responsible for managing network power and protecting the circuits that make up the electrical installation.
With over 40 years of experience, it is natural that we are recognized in the industry as pioneers and specialists in the design and manufacturing of industrial electrical control panels.

Industrial electrical control panel regulations
At MG Electricidad, we work methodically to comply with the requirements of EN 61439-3 standards for industrial electrical cabinets. These standards specify minimum safety requirements, including protection against overloads, short circuits, insulation, and fire hazards.
The regulations for industrial electrical control panels in Spain are governed by several laws and standards related to the design and engineering of electrical control panels. The most important are the Industrial Safety Law and the Low Voltage Electrotechnical Regulation (REBT).
The REBT establishes the technical and safety conditions that industrial electrical cabinets and electrical equipment in general must meet. Among other requirements, the REBT specifies that manufacturing must comply with the following:
- Be designed, constructed, and assembled in accordance with applicable technical standards.
- Include protection devices against overloads, short circuits, and indirect contact.
- Provide sufficient free space for electrical component installation and adequate ventilation.
- Have a lockable door to prevent unauthorized access.
- Include a nameplate with relevant information about the electrical control panel.
In addition to the REBT, there are other standards and regulations that must also be considered in the installation and maintenance of industrial electrical cabinets, such as the UNE-EN 61439-1 standard, which establishes the general requirements for low-voltage electrical control panels.
In summary, the regulations for industrial electrical cabinets in Spain are very strict regarding safety and the technical conditions these systems must meet. It is essential to comply with all applicable standards and regulations to ensure personnel safety and the reliability of industrial electrical systems.
Low-voltage electrical control panel regulations
The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) establishes a set of legal requirements and market references for all electrical, electronic, and related technologies. The IEC 61439-1 and 61439-2 standards serve as the reference for low-voltage electrical cabinet manufacturers.
The IEC 61439 standard defines all requirements for designers and users of next-generation low-voltage control panels, ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment, electrical availability, and long-term reliability.
The IEC 61439 regulations establish the design of a structurally compliant “system”, verifying interactions and consistency between components. All checks proposed by the IEC 61439 standard contribute to achieving three fundamental objectives: electrical safety, electrical availability, and product quality for the end user.
Industrial electrical control panel schematics
Industrial electrical control panel schematics are a graphical representation of the electrical system, identifying components, circuits, and wiring. Representing electrical cabinet schematics provides a clear view of the physical configuration of the electrical installation. These schematics also help electrical engineers and technicians understand how an industrial electrical system operates.
Electrical cabinets are made up of elements such as switches, relays, transformers, fuses, inverters, contactors, circuit breakers, and timer relays. These components are connected via conductors and cables to form a complete electrical system. The control panel schematic shows how these connections are configured.
To facilitate the reading of electrical cabinet schematics, most schematics present components and their wiring in a structured format. This structure can be shown in a tree format or a table format. The tree format is commonly used to display the cables connecting the main components, while the table format is used for the cables connecting secondary components. Schematics can also include additional notes on components and wiring, such as nominal current, nominal voltage, cable sizes, and cable lengths.
Types of industrial electrical control panels
Depending on the type of industry they are intended for, there are different types of industrial electrical control panels. Below, we summarize the technical characteristics of each type:

Distribution Panels
Electrical cabinets designed to manage the appropriate power for equipment and machinery, while also taking care of protecting the wiring and circuits of the electrical installation.

Motor Control Panels
Used to perform control of simple processes through hardwired logic. Depending on the industry, we distinguish industrial electronic panels, protection panels, server panels, or motor control panels, among other types.

Control Panels
Control panels allow managing a variable process using one or more PLCs. They also provide human-machine communication through an intuitive interface. Additionally, remote connectivity facilitates support and maintenance tasks on our part.
MG Electricidad is one of the few companies in Spain capable of performing the UL certification for electrical panels, as well as the standard European Union certification. We have years of experience in the study and design of electrical panels.
Industrial electrical panels prices
The price of industrial electrical panels varies greatly. The manufacturing cost is determined in advance, based on a series of factors, both structural and purely physical, such as power, and finally, depending on the brand chosen for certain parts and accessories.
If you are looking for a quote, at MG Electricidad we can give you an approximate price for our electrical cabinets. We can establish a fixed price, or if you need it, an approximate number of hours per month, in the case of more indeterminate and prolonged projects. All this after a meeting and a study of the needs of your installation.
