Technical Project: Industrial Electrical System for Food Processing (Valencia North)
2020 – Project Scope
This project entails the design and implementation of a specialized electrical installation for a sunflower seed separation line. Located in the Valencia North industrial hub, the system is engineered to meet the stringent hygiene and safety standards required by the food and beverage sector, ensuring continuous production with minimal downtime.
Control Panel and Automation Strategy
The “brain” of the separation line is a custom-engineered industrial control panel. To ensure maximum reliability and global compatibility, we have integrated industry-leading components:
-
Logic & Control: A Siemens PLC manages the complex sorting sequences, ensuring high-speed processing and accuracy.
-
Motor Regulation: Siemens Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) are utilized to control the speed of the separation belts and fans, optimizing energy consumption and product handling.
-
Protection: High-performance ABB circuit breakers (magnetotérmicos) provide robust electrical protection for both the machinery and the operators.
Human-Machine Interface (HMI)
User interaction is facilitated through a high-definition Siemens HMI screen. This interface allows operators to monitor the separation process in real-time, adjust parameters on the fly, and receive instant diagnostic alerts, making the entire line intuitive and easy to manage.
Cable Infrastructure
For the wiring layout, we have implemented Rejiband wire mesh trays. In a food-grade environment, this is the preferred solution as it prevents the accumulation of dust and organic particles, facilitating the rigorous cleaning protocols required in the plant. The open structure also ensures excellent heat dissipation for the power cables.
